and Crossbow Safety Course

The one-time course fee is $45.00 + HST for each course.

You must be at least 12 years of age to take the online Nova Scotia Hunter Education Course.

The Nova Scotia Certificate of Completion is issued once you have completed the online Nova Scotia Hunting Safety Course or Crossbow Safety Course. The certificate is proof you have completed the course. To complete the Hunter Education Process, please follow the steps on the Certificate to get your WRC.

Yes. The Certificate of Completion is proof that you have passed the online Hunting Safety Course. Both the Hunter and Crossbow Education Courses are in an Online-Only Format. Please follow the additional instructions to complete the certification process to get your new or updated WRC.

With the online courses, you can take all of the coursework from the convenience of your own home. They are both offered in an online-only format. Simply follow the additional instructions to get your new or updates WRC.

The Wildlife Resources Card is required by all Nova Scotia residents in order to purchase any resident licence issued under the Wildlife Act and Regulations.

The Nova Scotia Wildlife Resources Card (WRC) is an identification card that all Nova Scotia residents are required to have in order to purchase any resident licence issued under the Wildlife Act and Regulations. The WRC is issued in replacement of the Nova Scotia Firearm Hunting Certificate, Bow Hunting Certificate, and the Fur Harvester Certificate.

To obtain the Nova Scotia Hunting Safety Course:

1. Register online with HUNTERcourse.com/novascotia.
2. Pay the one-time course fee of $29.95 + HST for the course.
3. Successfully complete your Nova Scotia online Hunting Safety Course.
4. Provide proof of successfully completing your Canadian Firearm Safety Course
5. Receive your WRC!

To obtain your Nova Scotia Crossbow Certification are as follows:

1. Register with HUNTERcourse.com. A valid Wildlife Resources Card (WRC) is required.
2. Pay the one-time course fee of $29.95 + HST for the course.
3. Successfully complete the online Crossbow Safety Course and you’re done!
4. Email your Certificate of Completion to the Nova Scotia Department of Lands and Forestry so that your WRC can be updated with your Crossbow Training.

In order to pass the online Hunting Safety Course and get your Certificate of Completion, you must pass each chapter quiz and the final exam with a grade of at least 80%.

In order to pass the online Crossbow Safety Course, you must pass each chapter quiz with a grade of at least 80%.

If you have completed the Nova Scotia Online Hunting Safety Course, you can obtain a Wildlife Resources Card by following the instructions found on your course completion certificate.

A Certificate of Completion is required to attend the Final Hunter Education Exam at your local Department of Lands and Forestry office. If you have lost your certificate, you can log in to your exam center and print out a new copy. You can take the online course at any time, day or night. However, courses must be completed within 90 days of payment. After 90 days, your access to the course will expire.
