A.The MN DNR has introduced a new online hunter education course for those students 14 years of age and older. It covers all required material plus additional material that is covered during a traditional field day.
A. Students who complete the course have the option of taking a field day, but it is not required to receive their hunter education certification.
A. The Minnesota Hunter Safety Course Field Day Voucher is issued once you have completed the Minnesota Online Hunter Safety Course. The voucher is your admission ticket into a Minnesota DNR Range and Field Day where you will complete your hunter safety training and obtain your Minnesota Firearm Safety Certificate.
A. No. The Field Day Voucher allows you to take part in a Firearm Safety Range & Field Day, where you will be issued a hunter education certificate once you have successfully completed all live fire exercises and the final hunter safety exam.
A. After you successfully complete the online course and pay the course fee, you will have access to your field day voucher. On page 2 of your voucher, you will see the MN DNR procedure on how to self-certify with the state.
A. The traditional Minnesota Firearm Safety Hunter Education Course is over 15 hours in length and is usually given over a number of weeknights and/or weekends. With the online hunter safety course, you can do the bulk of the course work from home. You will only need to attend a single firearm safety Range & Field Day to get your Minnesota Hunter Education Certificate.

A. The online hunter safety course is available to anyone at any time. However we strongly recommend that you locate a Firearm Safety Range & Field Day in your area before you get too far into the online course. Range & Field Days might be difficult to find in certain areas, so plan ahead!
A. In order to pass the online hunter safety course and get your Field Day Voucher, you must pass each chapter quiz and the final hunter safety test with a grade of at least 80%. This means you must obtain a grade of 8/10 on the chapter quizzes, and 40/50 on the final hunter safety test.
A. The one-time course fee is $24.95, and includes unlimited attempts at the hunter safety test. The Field Day Voucher is available once you pass the final online hunter safety course test.
A. Contrary to popular belief, hunting is one of the safest sports around. This is mainly due to the fact that most hunters take gun safety and hunting safety very seriously. Careless or reckless behavior while hunting can lead to serious injury to one self or to innocent bystanders. This is why Minnesota requires most hunters to take hunter education courses, and to follow the 10 rules of firearm safety at all times when hunting.

A. The HUNTERcourse.com Field Day Voucher is required to attend a Minnesota Firearm Safety Range & Field Day. If you have lost your Field Day Voucher you can sign in to your exam center and print out a new copy. You can also contact HUNTERcourse.com at 1-866-495-4868 or e-mail [email protected] and we will send you a copy of your voucher.
A. You can take the online course at any time, day or night. However, courses must be completed within 90 days of payment at which time your access to the course will expire.
